About the Event

The RCA Secretariat is thrilled to share highlights from the recent RCA exposure visit, which brought together representatives from 39 cities for an energising deep-dive into water-sensitive urban interventions in Delhi.

What resonated most:

• The potential of treated water reuse in shaping resilient cities

• The power of community-led revival in sustaining urban waterbodies

• The value of ecological restoration approaches in restoring degraded landscapes

• The role of ICT tools in enabling integrated and data-driven water management

Participants visited the Bansera Eco-Restoration Site, where officials from the Delhi Development Authority walked everyone through the impressive transformation of what was once a C&D waste dump into a thriving green space.

They also visited Sanjay Lake to see firsthand how treated wastewater is being used to rejuvenate the lake and support groundwater recharge. The visit then moved to Rajokri Lake, where Delhi’s Irrigation & Flood Control team shared how community-led efforts have brought new life to the waterbody.

The visit concluded at the National Mission for Clean Ganga, where participants received an insightful demonstration of the PRAYAG Portal — a powerful tool for integrated water management.

Here’s a list of the participating RCA cities: Ara, Arariya, Begusarai, Bijnor, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Haridwar, Jhansi, Jodhpur, Katihar, Kishanganj, Kotdwar, Mirzapur, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Rajmahal, Ranchi, Samastipur, Shahjahanpur, Siwan, Srinagar, Supaul, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Rishikesh, Adityapur, Uttarkashi, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Moradabad, Vrindavan, Bhopal, Dhanbad, Lucknow, Ghaziabad & Gaya.
